Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, appointed Deputy Chair of Goal Bureau

Zurich: HRH Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, FIFA Vice President representing Asia, was appointed Deputy Chair of the Goal Bureau at FIFA. Prince Ali joined FIFA President Joseph Blatter, Goal Bureau Chairman Issa Hayatou and other committee members at the FIFA House today for the first committee meeting since the new appointments have been made.

“I believe the Goal project has benefited many member associations worldwide and has contributed to football development in these countries. I look forward to working with Chairman Hayatou and Co-Deputy Chairman Michel Platini in the best interest of member associations, especially those who need it the most,” said Prince Ali.

“I believe more can be done to proactively promote the projects especially amongst member associations with little access to FIFA projects and to accelerate existing programs as well,” headed.

“Very little is said about the benefits of these Goal projects to football development. Credit must be given, where credit is due. Having said that, however, I see potential for more projects across the board, especially in terms of building the basic infrastructure; such as durable and high quality artificial pitches, youth academies, technical centers. Etc,” the FIFA Vice President said.

The Goal Bureau aims to benefit member associations to implement projects in order help develop football in their respective countries. Goal Bureau is chaired by FIFA Vice President Issa Hayatou and co-deputized by FIFA Vice President and UEFA President Michel Platini.
