AFC statement: ACL SF1 Suwon Samsung Bluewings vs Al Sadd

Kuala Lumpur, AFC News, Friday, 21 October 2011: Following the AFC Champions League semi-final first leg between Korea Republic’s Suwon Samsung Bluewings and Qatar’s Al Sadd on October 19, 2011, the following players and officials have to serve match suspensions in accordance with Article 69 par (d) (e) and (f) of the AFC Champions League Regulations 2011. Suwon Samsung Bluewings player Ristikj Stevica and Coach Ko Jong Su are suspended and ineligible to participate in the next match against Al Sadd on October 26.

Al Sadd players Keita Abdul Kader and Mamadou Hamidou Niang and goalkeeper coach Suhail Saber Ali are suspended and thus ineligible to participate in the next match against Suwon Samsung Bluewings on October 26. AFC has also opened disciplinary proceedings against the said players and officials from Suwon Samsung Bluewings and Al Sadd, which will be referred to the AFC Disciplinary Committee for deliberation.
The return leg of the semi-final will take place at the Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium on Oct 26, 2011, in Doha, Qatar.

AFC Disciplinary Committee sanctions Afghanistan, Syria-Kuala Lumpur, AFC News, Thursday, 20 October 2011 11:12

The AFC Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned Afghanistan for fielding an ineligible player in the 2012 AFC U-16 Championship Group B qualifiers last month. Afghanistan, who made it to the tournament proper as the third best team from West Zone, fielded Zaiuddin Amruddin who failed the MRI test for age determination.

The committee imposed a 3-0 forfeit of their matches against Kuwait, UAE and Yemen and a US$1000 each fine on all their five group games for violating Article 25 par. C) iii) of the AFC U-16 Championship 2012 qualifiers regulations and Article 55 par. 1 and 3 of the AFC Disciplinary Code. Afghanistan will now be replaced by Saudi Arabia in the 16-nation AFC U-16 Championship as the third best team from West Zone.

The AFC Disciplinary Committee also imposed a US$1000 fine on Syria for fielding an ineligible player Hassan Tabshow against Nepal in the qualifiers of the same competition for a violation of Article 25 par. c) iii) of the U-16 Championship 2012 Qualifiers Regulations and Article 55 par. 3 of the AFC Disciplinary Code.
